When we moved next door to June and John 25 years ago, we could not have had a warmer reception. They went out of their way to welcome us to the village, even holding a drinks party so we could meet other friends and neighbours. Instead of being irritated by the influx of a young family I will always remember June saying how lovely it was to hear the children playing in the garden. And she became a wonderful friend to both the children, teaching them to draw and paint and generally taking an interest in their artistic development. She was a great friend and neighbour. I am sure she is now at peace with John.

I have such a wonderful childhood memories growing up next door to June. From sitting in the garden on the swing bench to having art lessons, or just having a cup of tea in the kitchen and chatting. Thank you for your kindness and I’m sure you will be dearly missed.
